Sunday Morning Inspiration – GRATITUDE: Part II

“ We showed him (ie. Man) the way; whether he be grateful or ungrateful (rests on his will)” KORAN ( AL-INSAN 76:3).

The law of gratitude (Thanksgiving) has been practiced by many thousands of years ago. From the Australian Aborigenes to the African Maasai and Zulu, from the American Navajo, Shawnee and Cherokee, to the Tahitians, Eskimo, and Maori, the practice of gratitude is at the root of most indigenous traditions.

Even the early American settlers aftter landing in the New World chose a particular date and time of the year to come together( Thanksgiving) to be grateful, which is still practiced till date.

And we know that the major religions of Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Buddism, Sikhism and Hinduism all have gratitude at their core.

  • Mohammed said that gratitude for the abundance you’ve received is the best insurance that the abundance will continue.

  • Buddha said that you have no cause for anything but gratitude and joy.

  • Lao Tzu said that if you rejoice in the way things are, the whole world will belong to you.

  • Krishna said that whatever he is offered he accepts with joy.

  • King David spoke of every living things giving thanks to God( Psalm 150)

  • And Jesus said thank you before he performed each miracle.

History is also littered with famous figures who daily practiced gratitude, and it put them among the greatest humans that walked upon earth; Gandhi, Mother Theresa, Newton, Einstein, Lincoln, Plato, Shakespeare et al.

Albert Einstein, when asked about his monumental achievements that changed the way we see the universe, he spoke of only giving thanks over a hundred times a day to others for the work they had previously done which in turn helped him to formulate his theories and thesis.

When Isaac Newton was asked how he had achieve the scientific discoveries he made, he said that he stood on the “shoulders of giants”. Imagine two of the world’s greatest scientist giving thanks continually for those who have started the work before them.

If every scientists, entrepreneurs and inventors followed in their footsteps, the world would be propelled into new territories of understanding, growth, and advancements.

Wallace Wattles in his classic book, “The Science of Getting Rich” said that ‘Many people who order their lives rightly in all other ways are kept in poverty by their lack of gratitude. Having received one gift from God, they cut the wires which connect them with Him by failing to make acknowledgment’.

He also said that ‘The more gratefully we fix our minds on the Supreme when good things come to us, the more good things we will receive, and the more rapidly they will come; and the reason simply is that the mental attitude of gratitude draws the mind into closer touch with the source from which the blessings come because gratitude brings the whole mind into closer harmony with the creative forces of the Universe’.

GRATITUDE AND SUCCESS

Gratitude is the missing link of success. It will do us good immediately we wake up to start saying the magic words “Thank you” many times and really feel those words from the depth of our hearts.

Be grateful for perfect health and a sound body, mind and soul. Its really a big miracle to see each new day. If you think a new day isn’t a big deal, then just try missing one (that would be disastrous). We will look at how gratitude affect the success of our relationships, careers, health, finances.

GRATITUDE AND HEALTH

An Italian proverbs says, “He who enjoys good health is rich, though he knows it not”. That is a powerful statement to really consider and one that will bring us to the truth and consciousness of ‘Health is wealth’.

Health is the most precious thing in life, and yet more than anything else, we can take our health for granted. For many of us, the only time we think of our health is when we lose it. Then the realization hit us: without our health, we have nothing.

Gratitude is one of the fastest ways I know(as a medical practitioner) to magically begin experiencing the full state of health you are meant to have in your body and mind.

Gratitude’s magical power increases the natural flow of health to the mind and body, and can assist the body in healing more quickly, as countless studies have shown the degree that you are grateful for your health is the exact degree that your health will magically increase, and the degree that you’re not grateful is the exact degree that your health will decrease. It compliments Newton’s third law of motion: Action and reaction are equal and opposite.

And it is also the answer to what Jesus said in the book of Matthew:

“ Whoever has (gratitude for health) will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have( gratitutde for health), even what he has  will be taken from him”

GRATITUDE AND MONEY

A poet once coined this phrase, “Gratitude is riches, complaint is poverty”; this should definitely be the golden rule of your whole life. The more grateful you can be for the money you have, even if you don’t have very much, the more riches you will receive. And the more you complain about money, the poorer you will become.

Feeling gratitude for the money you have paid out guarantees you will receive more.

Gratitude is like a magnetic golden thread attached to your money, so when you pay money out, the money always return to you, sometimes equally, sometimes tenfold, sometimes a hundredfold.

The abundance you receive back depends not on how much money you give, but on how much gratitude you you give.

From today henceforth, make a promise to yourself that whenever you receive any money, whether its your salary, a refund or discount, or some gifts that cost money, you will truly be grateful for it.

CALL TO ACTION

We must take gratitude with us wherever we go. Saturate the magic of gratitude into your passions, encounters, actions, and life situations to make all your dreams come true.
From the moment we get up from the bed, we should say the words, ‘thank you’ several times in a day until we retire back to our bed.
Every activity should be done with  gratitude as we have been admonished to “give thanks in all things” (1 Thess 5:17) and see how lifes daily magic will unfold before us.

Children and Vaccination

“So it's an absolute lie that has killed thousands of kids. Because the mothers who heard that lie, many of them didn't have their kids take either pertussis or measles vaccine, and their children are dead today. And so the people who go and engage in those anti-vaccine efforts -- you know, they, they kill children. It's a very sad thing, because these vaccines are important.” ― Bill Gates Since the advancement of medicine, medical practitioners found out there are ways you could prevent your child from suffering some terminal diseases as they grow up. They called this “Immunization or Vaccination”. Today, medical centers all over the world advise you to immunise your children so as to protect them from some certain diseases. You immunize your children through the use of vaccines, and this vaccination comes in different forms, and different age grades. Whаt аrе vaccines? Whеn germs enter thе body, thе immune system recognizes thеm аѕ foreign substances (antigens). Thе immun...
